Mayara Pineiro was born in Havana, Cuba and graduated from The Cuban National Ballet School under the direction of Ramona de Saa. She participated in International Dance Festivals in South Africa, Peru, and Canada. At the age of 16, she won a Silver medal in The International Ballet Competition held in Havana, Cuba. That same year, she received a gold medal in the Danza & Mare Competition in Calabria, Italy. In 2011, she was awarded the gold medal in the Youth American Grand Prix in Tampa.
  
 Ms. Pineiro began her professional career in 2010, when she joined the National Opera of Bucharest as a Soloist. There, she danced many roles, including the Woodland Glade Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, the Russian Girl in Serenade, and a Slave in Le Corsaire. In 2012, she was invited as a guest artist to Balletto del Sud in Italy under the direction of Fredy Franzutti where she performed The Blue Bird pas de deux from The Sleeping Beauty and the title role in Carmen. From 2012-2014, Ms. Pineiro danced with Milwaukee Ballet. She joined Pennsylvania Ballet as a member of the Corps de Ballet for the 2014-2015 Season and has since been promoted to Soloist, dancing principal roles in George Balanchine's The Nutcracker™ (Sugarplum Fairy), and Odile/Odette in Christopher Wheeldon's Swan Lake. She has also danced featured roles in Matthew Neenan's Shift to Minor and Jerome Robbins' The Concert.
